{matthew 5:8}

How much time do you waste judging others? I would love to say that I waste zero time doing this, but that would be a 100% lie. I wish it could be the truth, (maybe someday), but unfortunately it isn’t just yet. If I could change one thing about myself, physically or mentally, I would definitely change how I sometimes feel that it’s okay to judge other people. It is NOT okay to judge people, and I wish more people knew this.

If you want to be TRULY happy, you have to STOP all the judgement towards others. I obviously need to take my own advice, because sometimes I, myself, can be very judgmental. I judge other peoples clothing choices. I judge others personalities. I judge peoples hair. I even judge some peoples finger nail polish colors sometimes. What you need to know about all of this is:::::: IT IS NOT OKAY. Even if you do say something like “no offense to dear Shelly over there, but her jeans look like she wrestled a rat in the wilderness.” Just because you say “no offense, but….” or “don’t get me wrong, but…” or, the one that I hear the most, “I LOVE so-and-so, but…,” guys, lets be real with ourselves, this is also not okay. It is still a form of judgement, and it still hurts the people who you are saying it about.

Here’s the thing: this all leads back to self-love, just like most other struggles you may have. If we were 100% happy and confident with ourselves, we would be way less likely to judge others. Think about it, if you are unhappy with yourself, don’t you think you will also be unhappy with other people? But, what if you woke up everyday happy with yourself and your life? You would be more likely to applaud other people who are just trying to do the same thing as you, and that is just merely survive this chaotic, rough-at-times, amazing thing called LIFE. People are going to be who they want to be, do what they want to do, and succeed how they plan to succeed, so why don’t we, as bystanders watching from the crowds, just do our part and encourage these people who are just trying to make the most out of life. Instead of using your judgement, which is only going to slow down these people trying to succeed, why don’t we use our motivation, and make the road to success easier and happier for these people? The world would be a much happier place, and we would all be way happier people.

On one of my first posts on my blog, I posted a quote, and I feel that it is very, very relevant in this post.

“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”

Sometimes I will be at school, and I will be going on with my day, whether it is good or bad, and someone will say something like “oh so and so said this about you,” or “oh my gosh is (whatever the rumor is) really true??!!” Let me just say, my parents have dealt with some bad days of me coming home crying, or being very, VERY mad about some of the judgmental things that are said about me, and I am here to say this: stop letting rude, judgmental comments affect your version of a happy life. So what someone says something rude about you, you will waste your time by thinking twice about it. What people say behind your back is not your business, so just let it be. Learn to ignore it, and your life will be so much easier. For me, there are certain people who can talk bad about me, or judge me, and I will think about it for days. I so need to stop this. Most of the time I am so good about ignoring the bad things being said, but I don’t know what happens, and it’s like I just snap when these certain, like, 1 or 2 people say something rude or hateful about me. If you are the same way, STOP LETTING IT AFFECT YOU! I am taking my own advice here as well, haha. Like I said, and I can’t stress this enough, the sooner you stop caring about the rude remarks being said about you, the better your life will become. You will also become a happier person this way, so just ignore the bad, and praise the good.

As I have worked more and more on not being as judgmental, one thing that has helped me so, so, so much is saying this to myself when I feel the urge to judge someone: “You never know what their current situation is.” Maybe you see a kid in a grocery store screaming and you think “oh my gosh this parent needs to get control of her psycho kid!” Trust me, I’m 13 years old and I think that all the time. After I think this, though, I always think… “Ady, don’t say that if you don’t know their life story.” Maybe the mom of that awful child works night shifts so that she can afford to pay for her family, and she’s too tired to discipline her kid. Who knows. Just remember, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT SOMEONE COULD BE GOING THROUGH IN THEIR PERSONAL LIFE! I can’t stress that enough.

So, if you take nothing out of this whole post today, just keep in mind one thing: judgement is not okay!!!!! Please remember that!

Disclaimer: I am so sorry it took me so long to post this, my life has been super crazy-busy, and I’ll try my hardest to start posting more. (although no promises, haha) Thank you if you are reading up to this point, it means so much. This topic has been on my mind for a while now, but I am just now actually sitting down to type this. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this post, and don’t forget to set your clocks foward tonight!!! Xoxo -ADY MEEK<3

If you are like me, you have a couple of favorite things you use everyday.. for example: hair products, makeup, skincare items, etc. Today I am gonna be sharing my top 5 favorite things that I use on a daily basis, as far as skincare goes. I’m just gonna jump right in, so enjoy!

** Please take into consideration that all skin types are different, so if you are interested in some of these products check to make sure they are your skin type before buying..

#1- Mario Badescu Acne Facial Cleanser

This cleanser is my absolute favorite because it is a very gentle, yet effective product. I also love the price, $15, and sometimes one bottle will last me 4 -5 months. I have super oily and sensitive skin, and this cleanser has seemed to be the only product that doesn’t leave my face feeling oily, or broke-out because of my skins sensitivity to most cleansers.

#2- Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Water Foundation

This foundation is a water-based, vegan foundation that does wonders for my skin. I have tried so many different foundations, but this is the one that has just seemed to work best for me. I also LOVE that it is made from all-natural ingredients, and it seems to help my skin when I wear it, unlike most foundations, which often make me break out super bad. Tarte also has lots of other vegan products, so keep that in mind the next time you are looking for good makeup!

#3- Image Skincare Clear Cell Mattifying Moisturizer

This is a super good moisturizer, especially if you have super oily skin. I know I have mentioned my skin being oily a lot, but it is so so so hard to find products that help control my oily skin instead of make it more oily. This moisturizer makes my skin soft, but at the same time it also helps control the oiliness.

#4- Mario Badescu Lip Balm

If any of you reading this see me on a daily basis, you have probably saw me putting this on. I take it everywhere with me, lol. This stuff is my absolute favorite simply because you can put it on and it is not super thick like most glosses, and it will stay on forever and make your lips feel so smooth. Honestly, I need to just do a post with all my favorite Mario Badescu products, because I have not tried one product that I have not loved, they are all so good! (ESPECIALLY their face sprays and toners!!!) #notanad

#5- Opalscence Whitening Toothpaste

Last but not least, this is also one of my favorite products ever made. I used to use the AP-24 toothpaste forever, and after a while I started noticing that I couldn’t eat or drink anything cold without my teeth aching. I talked to my dentist and she said to throw it away ASAP. For a while I had to use so many different sensitive toothpastes, it was crazy, until I found this one and it has been a life saver! Call me crazy, but no toothpaste has ever worked this good on my teeth! It’s super good for helping sensitive teeth, but it is also made to whiten your teeth at the same time…. it is AMAZING, and I would definitely rate it a 10/10!

So, I have shared some of my favorite skincare items with you, which by the way I have so many more that I wish I could’ve had room to put, but I tried to keep it as short and simple as possible. Anyways, if you have any items that you love as much as I love these, I am always looking to try something different so leave a comment and let me know yours!

This past year has been so much fun for me, and I hope it has been great for all of you, as well!! I got the opportunity to go on many awesome trips, spend lots of time with my closest friends and family, and do lots of other cool things. Needless to say, I have made so many priceless memories this year, and I cannot wait to make more in 2019!

Although this year has been so great, I did struggle with a couple things. One thing I found myself constantly struggling with was trying to fit in and be like everybody else around me. There would be times when one of my friends would say something like “I don’t like her,” for whatever reason or what ever had happened between the two of them in the past, and the next thing I know I would be talking about that person, too. Sometimes it was people I barely even knew, or had only heard a couple things about. Looking back on it now, I realize that I shouldn’t of let the temptation of wanting to fit in so badly get in the way of doing the right thing, which should have been to simply try and make the conversation a positive one, instead of adding on to the negativity.

I have been trying to work on this struggle of mine for some time now, and I’m just now realizing how truly hard it is to remain neutral in all of the gossip that goes on around us. One thing I have learned through trying to get better about this is that you never know what someone could be going through; whether they struggle at home, or they struggle in some other way or form in life, you just never know what kind of battles they could be facing. One thing that has also helped me with trying to turn a conversation more positive is by realizing what I am saying and kind of like analyzing it in my mind. Thinking things like, “Is what I am saying/ about to say going to help make this conversation better, or just more negative?” That has been a huge way I have learned to be more of a positive person as far as gossiping goes.

In 2019 I definitely want to keep working on being more kind, and less judgmental towards people, even the ones who I am not the biggest fan of. I want to learn to love people of all types, kinds, differences, and personalities. So, wish me luck and pray for me as I start a new chapter full of love in my life! :))

“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”

As for 2018, it has been a blast, but I’m super ready to see what 2019 has in store for me! Special thanks to all my friends and fam who made this year one to remember, I love you guys!! Also, I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas, and happy New Years!

-Ady Meek

Hi, my name is Ady, and I am 13 years old. I live in the small town of Marlow, Oklahoma. I have one older brother, and two amazing step sisters. I also have an awesome step dad, and a soon-to-be step mom. In my free time, I like to hang out with family, read, do art, and lots of other things that I can’t think of at the moment, lol.

(yes, we have shorts on, lol)

One thing that you will learn about me by reading this blog is that I am a very open-minded person. I feel like this is what makes me different from others around me. Sometimes I think some of the people in my town don’t realize that Marlow is not the only town in the world. I also think that some people, including myself, forget that there are other people in the world besides who we have living in our community.

One thing that I have/ currently struggle with is self confidence. It’s like one day I’m completely comftorable in my own skin, then the next day I want to be a different person. I think that this happens to lots of girls my age, (sorry boys), and at some point in this blog that is one topic that I definitely want to cover.

A few other topics I want to cover throughout this blog are what I talked about above, like being open-minded, and also self confidence. I’m not quiet sure what else I want to include in this blog yet, but I have a couple of ideas. Also, BIG thank you to some of my Instagram followers for giving me some super good ideas and tips!

My first OFFICIAL blog will be up sometime soon, so make sure you check in!!

Thank you for reading!
